Founded on compassion, experience, and a proactive approach to quality care.
Saguaro was started by a group of parents of adults with developmental disabilities who leaped into action as federal mandates were implemented to deinstitutionalize the care of persons with disabilities. The purpose of these policies was to return people with severe mental illness and other disabilities to their hometowns, but the action required local assistance to be available.
We build homes not houses.
Saguaro strives to provide an environment for its members that feels just like home. Every Saguaro home is furnished with supplies, decor and entertainment just like you would find in your own home. Our programs are designed to provide members with travel opportunities, community building events and social activities. Our member transportation vehicles are well maintained to ensure the safety of our members and drivers. So, why Saguaro? Because we genuinely care about providing a quality service to our members on their journey with us, every step of the way.

Our professionally trained staff provides home and community based services, day programs to both adults and children with disabilities, and transportation within the community of Yuma County and the State of Arizona to the elderly and individuals with an array of handicaps and developmental disabilities.

Where does my money go?
As with any non-profit, support from the community is crucial to the success of our operation. All donations made to the Saguaro Foundation directly benefit our patients by allowing us to elevate our services, support our expert staff and cover operating expenses.
Every donor has the option to earmark their contribution(s) to Saguaro. Should you choose to donate, you will be given the opportunity to specify which of our programs you would like your funds to be distributed to directly.
