Saguaro Day Programs For Adults

SAND

Saguaro’s-A-New-Day (SAND) is a day program for adults with developmental disabilities. The program engages individuals in a supportive service designed to meet the needs of adults with special needs who may have difficulty performing activities of daily living. Individuals remain active throughout the day performing social and recreational activities such as: art projects, gardening, table games, kick ball, basketball, air hockey, etc. Saguaro created individual work exploration programs in conjunction with other Yuma area agencies to meet goals in terms of work theory in a practical work environment. This work exploration allows participants to develop marketable skills that may lead to competitive employment in the community. Members of the SAND program also have the opportunity to volunteer work during the week at the Yuma Community Food Bank, Precious Treasures Organization, and Salvation Army.
